“Metal in the Air” is the new single from Stormental. A Christmas song, written to celebrate a metal Santa Claus and made to be heard while you open your gifts under the tree sharing beers with friends.

The band is in the studio recording an original Christmas metal song. Stormental is preparing this special gift for the fans and also for celebrating a great year of achievements in 2008. The song will be released on December 23rd and will be available for free download on the official site and myspace.

The first of December is a special date for the Brazilian metal band Stormental. They are celebrating two years of hard work since their debut self-titled album in 2006. For the occasion, the band releases a really special item. It’s a customized 4 gigabyte Stormental USB stick-drive. Baptized Full Pack 2008 (version 1.0), it holds their complete material (audio and video), including the new DVD Mental Live Storm and also an exclusive bonus track sung in Portuguese.

With this new type of media, Stormental charges a clear statement on their thoughts about innovation. Looking for alternative ways to spread their music, they embraced up-to-date technology to make the best out of it.

On their return to Brazilian shores after a second European tour, Stormental sends a message to all those who were a part of the tour.

Tomorrow Stormental will do their first gig of their European tour. The band will be on the main stage of the Belgium festival Vlamrock, in the city of As, to promote their live DVD. The numbers are: 30 bands and 3 stages. For more info, check www.vlamrock.be

Stormental heads today for the Old World, to start their European leg of the Mental Live Tour. After the initial kick at their hometown Florianopolis, Brazil, Stormental goes on touring until end of October, when they finally return to Brazil.

Before their departure, the band would like to thank all those who showed up at the release concert for Mental Live Storm DVD. Stormental also would like to thank their ex-guitar player, Rafael Scopel, who did a special appearance playing two songs of the set list.

Tonight Stormental charges on the stage of Célula venue to release their DVD, entitled "Mental Live Storm". Support act Still Life will start the party, followed by a video section with all Stormental videoclips and also the documentary of their first tour in Europe. Stormental will present a complete set list, with a special appearence of their ex-guitar player, Rafael Scopel.

Stormental is proud to announce that their first DVD is just around the corner. "Mental Live Storm" highlights the band's achievements, being the first one to officially release a DVD in their State. The bonus material includes all videos and also the EP “Unleashing the Madness”, that so far was only available for download. The DVD has a deluxe full color booklet with all lyrics and complete information. This Stormental’s release will be available at the website merchandising section. More info will soon follow.

Stormental is returning to Europe at the end of August to perform 15 concerts over 8 countries. On this second European tour, the band will be promoting their live DVD "Mental Live Storm". The DVD will be released in Brazil this month on August 23th.

Tour manager Diogo Andrei Benvenutti informs that "so far 15 gigs are confirmed, but there´s a chance that some more will be booked until the end of August".

Stormental was once more invited to play at the "Panorama de Musica" in ther hometown, Florianopolis. At this year´s edition of the festival, Stormental will be sharing the stage again with local guitar heroes Brasil Papaya. The festival intention is to present a cast with the most representative musicians and bands of it´s state, Santa Catarina.

Stormental will play a special setlist, moslty focused on theit up coming album, which is due by the end of the year. Also, some hits from the first album won´t be a-missing.

"Live!" is not just the new single from Stormental, it´s also a new born time for the band. With the recently arrived guitar player Hique and a new and important concert in Brazil called "Perception of the other", this single comes as an omen, foreboding what Stormental is preparing for the second half of 2008. Six-stringed musician Hique d'Avila is Stormental's new guitar player. Hique is actually an old friend of the band and an ex-"partner in crime" on Stomental member's side projects.

The new guitarrist has already important tasks ahead oh him. Hique is currently recording Stormental..s new album and will be at the stage performing with the band on the show "Perception of the Other", which will take place at their hometown, Florianopolis, on the 28th of June.

"Live", a new single with Hique d'Avila, will be released on Stormental's official website on June 23th. Stay tuned!

Stormental has just finished their process of selection for the new guitar player. The group would like to thank all those who participated and sent their material. “It´s always really nice to meet musicians and make new friends. We were really impressed by the quality of the material we recieved. We just cannot realize that our state here in Brazil has great musicians”, states Alexei.

Once Rafael Scopel left the band, Stormental has an open spot for the guitar. Those guitar players who are interested in joining the band should send to contact@stormental.com the following:

- A biography with picture (doc or pdf file);
- An original composition transcribed (encore, midi or guitar pro file);
- An audio file with a recorded solo (mp3 file up to 5mb maximum);
- One or more links for videos.

Observations:

1. The candidate must reside in Florianopolis (BR) or must be able to move to the city immediately;
2. The candidate must also be able to travel occasionaly and rehearse with Stormental everyday.

With a sad tone, Stormental announces that Rafael Scopel left the band. The guitar player states that he “would like to stay in Stormental at this time of growth and development, but unfortunately I had to make the choice” – referring to the musician´s giving priority to his personal life. Rafael has been in the band for 2 years. Stormental now seeks a new guitarrist.

The Brazilian TV show Crash will run a special broadcast with Stormental in February 7th (Thursday). The show will be celebrating its new format, now running one-hour-long on channel TV Floripa (for Net Cable TV in Brazil).

Besides a live interview with the whole band, Crash will run all the oficial videography of Stormental: the documentary "European Tour 2006" and the who video clips "Stormental" and "Rising Live". Crash airs at 10:30 pm.

The brazilian virtual magazine Universo do Rock invited Stormental for a special interview on their January issue. Singer Alexei Leao talked about the past, present and the future of the band with magazine's reporter Gabriel Ricado. Topics such as their first european tour, the videos, the DVD recording and also their up-coming second studio album were discussed in the interview.

The Brazilian website natobata.com.br released some pictures of Stormental's concert at Orquidea Rock Festival. The website has also a special section covering the whole festival.

Being one of the headliners in Orquidea Rock, on saturday night Stormental entered the stage for a full setlisted one hour long gig. The band would like to thank all those who closely watched the concert as well as the organizers of the festival.

For the november edition of Batera & Percussao Magazine, Stormental's drummer Marcos Feminella conceived an exclusive three-page interview. Marcos talked about his work with Stormental, as well as his involvement with the Siedler Modern Dance Company and general subjects like technics and his formation as a musician.

Batera & Percussao is a Brazilian drums-oriented monthly magazine. It is distributed all over Brazil by HMP Publishings.

Marcos Feminella will be playing in 3 music clinics organized by KR Custom Drums, together with drummers Jacques Blasseti and Mario Junior (both from local rock bands). During these dates, KR Drums will be displaying their new model - an aerographed set. Marcos is endorsed by KR Drums and plays a full customizes drum set.

For these clinics, Stormental, in association with Music At Home, prepared a limited songbook. This material will contain the full transcripted songs from Stormental that Marcos will be playing, plus a small biography, Marcos' drums setup and track-by-track comments.

On November 22, next Thursday, Stormental will present the official preview of their up-coming DVD Mental 'Live' Storm. A complete video track entitled "A Miserable Life", taken from the DVD, will be available for download at the website and also at the official Stormental channel in YouTube.com. The concert, recorded in June of this year in the band's hometown, took place in a local historical theater on a sold-out night. Reviews of the concert by the published media were extremely positive. Mental 'Live' Storm is the first heavy metal DVD ever recorded in the State of Santa Catarina, south part of Brazil.

On the following day, November 23, Stormental will be playing on a gig together with local band Brasil Papaya in their hometown.

Stormental and Brasil Papaya (instrumental rock) will be playing together in their hometown Florianópolis on the 23th of November. The concert will mark the great finale of the one-month-long musical event called Panorama de Música. The event, held by the brazilian Commerce Social Service Organization, points out the highlights of the recent musical production on the State of Santa Catarina with concerts and workshops.
